Your AI finally knows what you’ve been working on.
No more copying and pasting context into every chat. DayDream remembers it for you.
For Macs with Apple silicon, macOS 15 or later.
A silent film. On screen, in order: 6:12 PM. What did I do today? A note called Daily update, with only "Today" typed. DayDream remembers what you worked on. Chrome is supported: a "Chrome pages" switch in DayDream is turned on. Typing, only if you switch it on: a "Typing" switch is turned on, a few words are typed into a note, and they fold into a small note: Typed in Notes, a sentence. Encrypted on your Mac. Passwords are skipped. It writes short notes of your day. Ask your AI what you did: in an AI chat window, "what was I doing at 3pm?" is typed and sent. It searches your DayDream history and finds 3 moments: 2:20 PM in Pages, 3:02 PM in Notes and 3:34 PM in Freeform. The answer: At 3:02 PM you were in Notes, merging habit check-ins. DayDream. Questions.
Is it free?
Yes: free and open source, under the Apache License 2.0. It's a beta, so expect some bugs.
What does it record?
The apps and windows you use, and when (no screenshots). Setup shows typing and Chrome pages switched on, and one click turns either off, then or any time in Settings. Nothing is recorded until you've seen it in setup.
Does anything leave my Mac?
Only if you choose: cloud summaries (off by default), an AI app you connect, or a backup to a synced folder. DayDream has no account, no analytics and no crash reports.
Which AI apps work with it?
Apps that support MCP. Connect them in DayDream Settings › Connections, and disconnect any time.
What do I need?
A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 15 or later. It's tested on macOS 26 so far.
How do I install or remove it?
Open the download and drag DayDream to Applications (install guide). To remove it and your history, use the Uninstall button in DayDream Settings (uninstall guide).
